Topic: "English Language Challenges"

Image
Hello everyone! In the first place, when I entered university my level of English was horrible. The level of English at my school was not very good, really, and I felt that I did not learn anything, but in university I learned more words than every year in school. Thanks to blogging, I can better understand the blogs of my colleagues, without having to translate, unless an unknown word is presented to me. Also, as I write more blogs, I can do it more fluently. What makes it most difficult for me is speaking in English, because for that you need to think fast to say a good answer, and it took me a long time to come up with it. To exercise this, I must start more conversations with people only in English, and I was thinking in the near future to read books in English from the most basic, to learn more words. Also, I would like to continue writing something similar to blogs, since they have really helped my learning. At present, I watch movies and series subtitled in Spanish, and every t

Topic: "CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME"

Image
Hello again! First of all, I study biochemistry at the University of Chile and there are some things in the study program that could be changed. Regarding the subjects that are part of the career, there are cases where to be able to take a subject depends on the approval of more than another subject and also, we have annual subjects that if they are not approved we are too late in the career. There are subjects that I did not feel were essential for my specific career, as in the case of Mechanics, however, I have to admit that I liked learning more, although it is true that they could eliminate some or put them as optional courses. On the teaching method, it would be more didactic if the teachers did practical classes (excluding laboratories), where we can observe the application of the theory through examples from everyday life or simple experiments that allow greater teacher-student interaction. Regarding the faculty facilities, it would be great to have more study areas and green ar

Topic A music artist: AURORA

Image
Hello everyone! Today I will talk about my favorite singer who is Aurora Aksnes, known only as Aurora. She was born in Stavanger, Norway; on June 15 of 1996 and is a composer, record producer, and pop and folk music artist. When I read about her, I felt that I understood her. According to her biography, Aurora had a different personality and way of dressing when she was little, and her family feared that she would be molested by the other children. Knowing her original and authentic style that she transmits in her songs, makes me think that there is no need to fear the prejudices of society, that there is no need to fear being oneself. When I heard Wardruna's song "Helvegen" with Aurora, I started looking for more of her songs and falling more in love with her sincere passion for music. Her songs took me to another world and became a means of inspiration and a comforting welcome to start a new day. Such as " Runaway " and " A different Kind of Human ",

My favorite series: GAME OF THRONES

Image
Created by David Benioff and DB Weiss, produced by HBO and based on the saga "A Song of Ice and Fire" written by George R. R Martin, it recounts the experiences of a group of characters from different noble houses in the fictional continent of Westeros to have control of the Iron Throne and rule the seven kingdoms that make up the territory. The cast is extensive, but focuses on Eddard Stark (Sean Bean), Catelyn Tully (Michelle Fairley), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead- Wright), Robb Stark (Richard Madden), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Ser Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen). Without a doubt, a series that marked a before and after in my life for its setting, good script, an incredible soundtrack composed by Ramin Djawadi, ingenious special effects and memorable characters was Game of Thro

The best holiday ever

At Christmas 2018 I went to Temuco with my grandparents to accompany my great-grandmother, since she lived alone and I missed her a lot. My grandparents stayed at her house for a month, while I stayed two months to spend more time with her. For me it was the best vacation so far because I could feel that I got much closer to the soul of my great-grandmother, feeling with her what led her to suddenly move to that house far from the world. "Grandmother", by the painter Thomas James Lloyd (1849-1910) The most special moment for me was what might seem like the simplest thing in the world. I remember waking up with my great-grandmother at seven in the morning, going to the chicken coop to get the eggs for breakfast while she put the kettle on to boil and put the kneaded bread made the other day on the table. Seeing her sitting with a glass of yerba mate water between her callused hands and with a wrinkled smile on her face welcoming me, I thought that she was an immortal being, a

I Country I Would Like To Visit

Image
I would like to go to Scotland, where bagpipes are heard and kilts abound, because I've only read fiction books that portray the Scottish highlands, where Scottish magic and beliefs thrive in time, such as the Callanish stones that they have been standing since prehistoric times. So I would like to be present in those places, as I have been in my imagination until now.  Also being in the country I would like to go to the renowned Loch Ness to find Nessie in vain, the animal that inhabits its waters. Go to Edinburgh, visit the castle, its bars and bookstores and reach the end of the Scottish world, at Neist Point on the Isle of Skye. Neist Point Callanish stones                For the movie Brave Heart that I had seen when I was little, I had been excited by the fervent fight that the Scots made against the English to defend the lands that belonged to them by right. The Battle of Culloden was the last fought by the Jacobite cause on the fateful sixteenth of April 1746. However, Sco
